Placing and receiving calls

When you place or receive a call in the U.S., you'll be billed by the minute based on the type of call and the type of network on which the call is made. These rates are exclusive to the U.S., and your Canadian bundled minutes and rates will remain untouched until you return home to Canada.

Text messages

When you send a message from the U.S., you'll be charged $0.60 for each message sent*. Sent messages are pay-per-use and are not included in the Text Messaging bundles. Received text messages are charged the same as if you were in Canada.

*Premium text message charges are extra

Data Roaming Using email and Internet

Through our trusted partners, Bell lets you use your mobile phone, smartphone, or Connection card for email and Internet in the U.S. When you travel south of the border, your rate plan's included data will not be used. Instead, there are special roaming rates, depending on your device. Please see the chart below.

Device Data charges
Smartphone or Connection card $6/MB
Mobile phone (using Mobile Browser) $0.03/KB

For client support when travelling in the U.S., please call 1 800 667-ROAM (7626) or *611 (free of charge from your mobile).

Important Information

All charges will appear on your Bell Mobility invoice in Canadian funds. You will incur applicable U.S. state and federal taxes on all calls. If a long distance call terminates in your home province, you will incur Canadian taxes as well.
